Kathleen’s first role with the Authority was when seconded from the Department of Health and Children (DOHC) as Project Manager for the Interim Authority. The role has evolved and now includes being Board Secretary, with responsibility around Board Governance. Her role also includes that of Chief Risk Officer for the Authority.
Previously, Kathleen worked in the Health Promotion Unit of the Department of Health in the areas of alcohol policy, nutrition, health literacy and sexual health. In addition to policy work, Kathleen worked on the national health promotion awareness campaigns, including the annual national healthy eating week, alcohol awareness and the development of the Responsible Serving of Alcohol Programme in association with Fáilte Ireland.
