Dr Sahm’s current position, since October 2005, is a joint appointment between the School of Pharmacy (SOP), University College Cork and the Mercy University Hospital (MUH), Cork. Dr Sahm is a lecturer in Clinical Pharmacy in the SOP and, a consultant pharmacist on clinical research projects in the MUH.
Previously from 2003 she worked as a senior clinical pharmacist in the Bon Secours Hospital, Cork and before this she had worked for seven years in Germany (community and industrial pharmacy).
Dr Laura Sahm completed her undergraduate pharmacy degree in 1990 at Brighton University and won a scholarship from the Royal Pharmaceutical Society of Great Britain (RPSGB) to complete her PhD at the University of Bath, graduating in 1995. Dr Sahm is a member of the Pharmaceutical Society of Ireland (PSI) since 1991. Her research areas of interest include Health Literacy where she is involved in research collaborations at a national and international level.
